HIGHLIGHTS OF MY BIBLE STUDY THIS WEEK.

Often times when we stumble, our major concern is if we can be “forgiven”. The only thing we think is at stake is our relationship with God, in as much being forgiven and re-establishing our connection with God is key, there is more at stake.

Prov 28:13 “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy”

Sin is a thief, it’s an enemy. It takes much more than we think. God’s mercy will always prevail but understand that sin affects more than just our relationship and intimacy with God.

It breaks God’s heart but hardens ours, it makes us numb, it causes delay, it makes us more inclined toward rebellion, so even when we do hear Him, we are more prone to disobey 🥹

“Blessing does not come in iniquity”, this one hit differently 😢. The first step to restoration is repentance. God restores all I’ve lost when I truly repent.
As a woman, I carry generations in my womb… I can’t transfer curses and demons to my children because of my way of life 🔥
Something is fighting the grace I want so I have to be very careful.
No pressure of sin lasts forever.

4 Ingredients of genuine repentance :

– Godly sorrow : A genuine knowing/realization that I wronged God.
– Confessing to God and asking for forgiveness. Acknowledging my sin and then repenting.
– Forsaking and turning away from my sin completely.
– Making amends/Restitution : Apologising to God is not enough.

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he who blots out
your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more …”

How to Break Free :

– The power of sin is secrecy, sin thrives in secret.
– Being accountable breaks the power of sin.
– Exercise myself to Godliness :
The major issue is the willingness to be free and not the how. Deal with the will.
People that are feasting fat on God outgrow burdens.
I have to feed my spirit and grow. I can’t leave myself to myself I have to submit to God, let God plant me. Serve. It’s a consistent exercise. What I’m dealing with determines what I study and listen to. Be systematic about my spiritual growth.
– Stay in the company of believers!
Set structures, listen to the word, listen to worship, keep the fire burning. Face Jesus, don’t face the addiction to fight it. Love Jesus every day.

If you are far from the Lord, re-establish that connection today. The devil wants you to stay there but do not agree! Pray in this moment, tell the Lord you are sorry and go back to Him. Then from this moment on, treat sin as an enemy because it really is.
