Hey Fam, it’s another beautiful day and you know what time it is… It’s Saturday and Relationships💃🏼😁
Throughout the week, the buzz has been on about Omoni Oboli’s movie “Love in every word”. At some point I felt like I’ve seen the full movie with the short clips, reels and write ups about the movie and there was no point watching it again but I finally saw it yesterday and of course as a lover girl it was so beautiful to watch and it got me grinning from ear to ear from the moment Chioma saw Odogwu at the introduction ceremony she attended 😄☺️
So here are a few things I would like to point out to the singles, especially my beautiful sisters…
1. Attend weddings, occasions, events, lunch-ons, formal parties because you never can tell where you would meet your own Odogwu! Don’t stay at home pressing your phone and sleeping all day, man will not fall from heaven. Besides, heaven helps those who help themselves and while you are at it, please dress and smell nice!
2. Get yourself busy with something. Chioma wasn’t jobless. She had a thriving career which she was obviously good at and was still running her business. Get yourself busy with something… learn a skill, find a job, build yourself up, invest in yourself.
3. Men, there’s nothing more attractive than a hard working man! Don’t be lazy please. You might not be at Odogwu’s level but make sure you’re doing something before you even start to think about settling down. Most women are not materialistic, some men are just so lazy, visionless and completely confused about what they want to do or be in life. No woman should apologise for being ambitious and career minded! Yes we want to bring something to the table as much as you want us to but please have a good/strong table to carry our weight.
4. Ladies, a man who supports your dream is everything! If he’s trying to change you, run! if he says there’s no need for you to work but you want to and he doesn’t agree to that, nne flee!!! That’s a trap and it’s screaming red flag and emotional abuse! Unless you are comfortable with being a housewife but if not, kindly move on with your life. Let’s also learn to support our men too in their own dreams and ambitions.
5. A man who doesn’t give you now, will not give you later! Yes I said it!
For God so loved the world that “He gave”. Honey, any man who claims to love you but is stingy to you especially if he has to give, is a joker and shouldn’t be taken seriously!
Men are providers, Igbo men love to provide for their women and Odogwu portrayed that in the movie.
And on the flip side, be kind and generous to him too. Sometimes take that man out and spoil him with your money, get him gifts, cook for him. Men desire to be spoilt too.
6. It’s how we ladies give the silliest excuse for rejecting an intentional guy. Thinking about it now, even though I have a good head on my shoulder and a great insight on love and relationship I was once Chioma in this aspect.
My advice is this : Set your priorities right! Know your deal breakers, what you can accept and live with and what you cannot deal with. What is that one thing that you detest and can make you leave that marriage, if he/she exhibits it now in the dating phase it will be magnified in marriage. Other than that, no one is perfect!
Just ask for God’s grace not to make mistakes in your choice. As for God’s will? It will most likely come with those things that you don’t want. Example: his height, his accent, his state of origin, snoring or the way he cuts eba, her complexion, the way she walks, her dress sense, even where she attended secondary school 🤦🏽♀️
These ones are negligible please and some of them can be worked on.
Look out for core values that will last a lifetime. God’s will comes with peace of mind and the good values that you need to build a good home and raise Godly seeds but you see those physical attributes? You most likely won’t get them.
You see this spec thing is a story for another day.
But believe me that 99% of the time, ladies definitely end up falling in love and possibly marrying someone they felt wasn’t their spec at first.
Dear single ladies, know this and know peace ❤️
I will be drawing the curtains here today, let’s meet up next week saturday for another interesting gist 😁
If you haven’t seen the movie, here’s a link to watch.
