5 ‘GIRL POWER’ NOLLYWOOD SERIES YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS WEEKEND.

Hey lovelies, it’s the weekend and I just heard that a series I’ve been following since last year will be dropping soon so I am super elated!!!

I don’t know but movies about ladies striving and winning together … especially in the corporate world, business, relationship, marriage and the society at large motivates and inspires me a lot and today being the “INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD”, I thought to share some girl power nollywood movies you should really watch and trust me when I tell you that these series are super super interesting. You would definitely thank me afterwards.

In no particular order;

1. BEYOND THE VEIL

This is the story of five northern Nigerian women as they navigate the ups and downs of modern life, which includes careers, friendships, romances and often cultures clashes. The series was released in 2023 and produced by Nicola Smith. It currently has 2 Seasons. You can download from : https://9jarocks.net/?s=beyond+the+veil

2. THE SMART MONEY WOMAN

The Smart Money Woman is a series produced by Arese Ugwu. The series tells the story of an African girl named Zuri who on the outside looks like she’s financially successful but goes through a series of mishaps that help her realize she is in fact broke and needs to make better financial decisions.

It has only 1 season yet, which was released in 2021. The second season is set to be released this October. Download Season 1 here : https://9jarocks.net/?s=The+smart+money+woman

3. UNMARRIED

From the cultural demands of marriage, looking for a child and expectations for a male child, to enduring the pains of infidelity, separation, divorce, family interference in marriage, segregation and women discrimination in the workplace, Nengi, Funbi and Kamsi weave through the wire to find strength in their uncommon friendship.

‘Unmarried’ tells the story of three inseparable young ladies, as they strive to survive the dynamics of friendship, career challenges, relationships, as well as general issues. The series was produced by Folu Storms, released in 2020 and has 4 seasons in total. Download here : https://9jarocks.net/?s=Unmarried

4. JUST US GIRLS

‘Just us girls’ tells the story of four ladies, each different, with their own secrets and demons, and their choices in navigating life and staying committed to their goals, spiritual life and family expectations. This series was produced by Pastor Mildred Okonkwo whom I love so much by the way☺️. Just us girls currently has 2 seasons which was released in 2023. Season 3&4 are set to be released later this month. You can download or watch on Youtube :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctm1pIegf0w

5. FLAWSOME

This is my all-time fav and I chose to save it for last (lol). It’s actually my favorite because the storyline is totally relatable. Flawsome revolves around the lives of four women: Ifeyinwa (Bisola Aiyeola), Ramat (Ini Dima-Okojie), Ivie (Sharon Ooja), and Dolapo (Enado Odigie). The series highlights their personal and professional lives, which are bounded by their flaws, and yet the unbreakable ties that they share as friends. Each character is so unique and it’s how they share the unexpectedness and challenges of being a woman trying to climb the professional ladder and still hold up the front in other aspects of their lives. Holding down each other and pushing each other to be better with zero competition. This right here is a must watch for every girl.

It was produced by Tola Odunsi and was released in 2022. The series currently has 2 seasons and I am eagerly waiting for the 3rd season. Download Flawsome here : https://9jarocks.net/?s=flawsome

Let me know in the comment section which is your favorite if you have seen any. And also let me know which one you will be seeing first if you are yet to see any.

Happy International Day of the Girl Child to you… I hope you know that you are enough ❤️

Have an amazing weekend ahead lovelies.
