Hey ladies, still in the spirit of celebrating women and to wrap up the month of march… I am starting a series on how to tap into your feminine energy/soft girl era.

I know that this can be very difficult especially with the independent ladies who have had to sort out things for themselves and by themselves for the longest time. It makes us practically lose interest in certain things and find them not as important.

Trust me I get it because I’ve been there and even up until now, there are certain situations that require me to put on my big girl pants, tap into my masculine energy and get things done without depending on anyone or waiting for a knight in shining armour to come rescue me.

How did I get here? I guess it’s the way I was brought up. Despite being the last child, I didn’t really grow up with my siblings, by the time I was 10 -12 years they were already out of the house; married, in school, working etc, yes I am that “last born”.
So I had to do things for myself. Not saying this is bad at all because it made me become somewhat more responsible for my own life and I am grateful for that.

So back to my gist ladies, how can you tap into your feminine energy and be that girlie girl? Well, it’s quite simple, “Be intentional”.

Listen ladies, it doesn’t take much but you have to make a conscious effort to be girly no matter the amount of responsibility or burden on your shoulder and here are some tips to help you.

1. Learn to recieve/accept help :

One of the traits of a healthy feminine energy is the art of receiving. You need to come to the realization that we all need somebody and a shoulder to lean on. No one can do it all by themselves and that’s how life is designed.

When in need, ask or receive help from those that you know care about you. If you need to ask someone you aren’t too close to, then make it look like a business proposal or a loan that would be paid back. Inform them where the money will go to and ensure you keep your words by repaying so they can help you next time.

Open up more sis, even billionaires still ask for help from banks to execute projects.

And not just financial help. If someone offers a helping hand in other areas, it’s not bad to accept and say thank you. You don’t always have to do it all by yourself.

2. Be soft spoken.

There’s nothing as girly as a lady who speaks softly and calmly. There may be situations that might require you to raise your voice and scream but that isn’t feminine at all.

Colossians 4 vs 6 says ; “Everything you say should be kind and well thought out so that you know how to answer everyone.”

Speak in a classy, refined and soft manner always, it attracts people to you. Someone can comfortably listen to you talk for hours just because they love how you speak. Cut down on the pigeon english, slang, cussing, street language, exclamations that are outrightly unnecessary and the likes of it or better still cut it off completely. Be polite always, shut the desire to be mean.

3. Self-Care and Beauty Treatments :

Pamper yourself : This is very key when it comes to being a girly girl. Set aside time for self-care, whether it’s taking a relaxing bath, getting a massage, or practicing yoga. You will feel light, refreshed and your mind will be more relaxed to take on any task.
Glow up : Experiment with makeup, skincare, and hair care to find what makes you feel confident and beautiful. A few years ago, I figured out that applying make up on your face uplifts your spirits too and makes you feel more confident.

Now I’m not saying you should go all out every time but please don’t leave your house without touching up your face with a little powder and lip gloss, pack your hair neatly if it’s not braided or you don’t want to wear a wig. Don’t look like you’re always carrying the weight of the world on your shoulder.

Avoid having dry skin, baby girl moisturize your skin always, take care of your face. You can make your own face scrub too. Make sure your nails are neat and if you don’t want to paint them, at least keep them short and neat and if you’re grooming your natural nails, it should be neat too

Pro tip : In case you’re single and want to attract the opposite sex, then this is a very important tip for you to follow.

Dress for yourself : Wear clothes that make you feel feminine, elegant, and expressive. Wear bright colors, bright colors makes people notice you quickly when you walk into a room. Enough of the big polo and Jean please, you don’t always have to look like a boy.

Enough of the body hug and tight clothes that expose parts of your body which is supposed to be private. Wear classy gowns, skirts and tops, pallazo pants, high waist with good tops that makes you stand out,  makes you look classy, feminine. This also makes you attract the right crowd.

4. Emotional Expression and Intuition

Connect with your emotions: Allow yourself to feel and express your emotions in a healthy way, whether it’s through journaling, talking to a friend, or crying.

I would recommend journaling, you might realize that you have a gift that needs to be harnessed in this process.

Buy a journal and make it a daily routine to pen down something. It can be your thoughts, your plan for the day, week or month in view and what you want to achieve or it can be how you spent your day, your highlight of the day and what made you sad, what made you smile or how you overcame a work challenge.

Trust your intuition: Listen to your inner voice and trust your instincts. This will help you make decisions that align with your values and desires. Of course I can’t talk about instincts without mentioning the Holy Spirit. It’s one thing to go through life blind, it’s another thing to be connected to the one who knows everything and reveals them to us. Build up your relationship with the Holy Spirit and watch how you walk through life with ease.

Practice vulnerability: Be open and honest with others, and allow yourself to be vulnerable and receptive.
