Ever wondered why God wants us to have a good marriage?

Marriage is an institution established by God and He intends that His children enjoy their marriage.

Ecclesiastes 9:9:

“Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun—all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.”.

Colossians 3:14:

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Love is the foundation, love should be the core of a marriage, allowing couples to experience joy and fulfillment, mutual respect and commitment.

A strong marriage requires both partners to respect and commit to each other.

Here are some of the reasons why God wants you to have a good marriage…

– It makes it easier to make heaven. The choice of your life partner has a great role to play in where you will end up for eternity.

– It increases your propensity for survival.

– It increases your health. Trust me, you will live longer when you have a peaceful partner.

– It is the greatest place of unity, safety and peace ; this is why the devil fights marriages.

– A good marriage provides an environment to raise Godly and wholesome children. This is key because society needs sound minds now more than ever.

– A good marriage gives us joy and fulfilment.

– Marriage is to help one another : where I am weak, he is strong, and where he is weak, I am strong.

Ecclesiastes 4:9:

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

– It gives you a licence to enjoy intimacy and still make heaven. Because why not? God knows we have needs as humans so He made it easier for us to meet our needs within the confines of marriage. God loves orderliness.

– Marriage is for partnership and meeting needs : the man has needs of peace, respect, sex, a clean home, understanding, support, forgiveness, praise and admiration while the woman needs security (both financial, physical and emotional), affection, communication, honesty and openness, attention, quality time, intimacy… I could go on and on but I will talk about marital needs in a different post. ☺️

So you see, God created marriage to bring happiness and companionship. He is an intentional Father that has our best interests at heart ☺️. Trust me when I say, you cannot do marriage without the originator of it all. This is God’s design for marriage.
